Department for feminist politics and equality issues

Topics:

The department deals with issues of gender equality, the dismantling of discriminatory structures, as well as the identification of patriarchal patterns and systems. Events and projects try to counter prejudice and highlight stereotypes. The department also represents the ÖH in the Working Group for Gender Equality Issues at the University and participates in the design of the university’s offerings on gender and gender equality issues.

We are looking for:

  • One department head (team leader)
  • People in Charge for permanent or project-related cooperation

You are interested in:

  • Socio-political structures and their changes
  • Societal sustainability
  • Networking with stakeholders and regional policy

Areas of responsibility:

  • Gender policy and feminist issues and non-patriarchal forms of society
  • Gender equality at the University of Klagenfurt
  • Awareness-raising for gender and feminism

What we expect from you:

  • Initiation and coordination of projects in the field of women’s and gender policy
  • Advice for students in the area of women’s and gender policy (via e-mail or personal contact)
  • Representation of the ÖH in the working group for equality issues at the University of Klagenfurt
  • Creation of information materials relating to women’s policy and gender issues

Department for Organisation

Topics:

The department is responsible for the (co-)organisation of ÖH major events and interdepartmental projects and endeavours to document and evaluate project and activity plans. Furthermore, the department coordinates the ÖH beverage storage and supports other departments or student representatives in the implementation of events and projects.

We are looking for:

  • One department head (team leader)
  • People in Charge for permanent or project-related cooperation

You are interested in:

  • The structures of the ÖH Uni Klagenfurt/Celovec
  • The organisation of major events
  • Gastronomic activities (purchasing, warehouse management, personnel planning, etc.)

Areas of responsibility:

  • (co-)organisation of ÖH major events
  • Supporting other departements and study representatives in the implementation of events and projects
  • Development of measures for the optimisation of internal ÖH communication
  • Documentation, archiving and evaluation of ÖH projects and events

What we expect from you:

  • Enjoying diverse organisational activities and openness to projects covering a wide range of topics
  • Very good knowledge of German
  • You have approximately 7-10 hours per week at your disposal.
  • Commitment, independence, teamwork and reliability

Department for Housing

Job description

The “Housing” department of the ÖH Klagenfurt/Celovec is the contact point for students and landlords on the subject of student housing in Klagenfurt.

Our main task is the acquisition of housing for students in Klagenfurt and the surrounding area. We survey how many students need housing and then provide information as an intermediary between students and landlords, but we are also available to students in all matters relating to housing.

You are interested in:

  • The housing situation of students
  • The legal basis for living in Austria
  • Improve the housing situation for students

The tasks in the area of housing are:

  • Survey of the number of students unable to find housing
  • Searching for advertisements, contacting potential landlords and companies and obtaining rental offers
  • Visits to potential apartments
  • Communication and negotiations with landlords
  • Drawing up and sending out housing offers to students who need housing (English and German)
  • Preparation of support material for students in their search for accommodation
  • Research activities

What we expect from you:

  • Good knowledge of English and very good knowledge of German
  • Openness and pleasure in contact with people
  • You are available to the department about 5 hours per week
  • Commitment, independence, teamwork and reliability
