Departement for

feminist politics and equality issues

For a just and equal society.

The Department for Feminist politics and equality issues deals with issues of gender equality, the dismantling of discriminatory structures and the identification of patriarchal patterns and systems. Among other things, we participate in the design of the university offer on the topic of gender and equality issues and are represented in the Working Group on Equal Treatment Issues (AKG). The task of this collegial body is to counteract discrimination by university bodies (e.g. on grounds of sex, ethnicity, religion or belief, age or sexual orientation) and to advise and support the members and bodies of the university in these matters.

Our interest lies above all in the commitment to feminist (gender) politics and women-specific concerns. With a wide variety of projects and events, we want to counteract prejudices and show stereotypes as well as raise awareness about gender and feminism. To this end, we organize exciting film evenings, information events, campaigns, parties and are committed to the gender debate in (uni) politics. Our activities are intended to make it clear that equality has not yet been achieved and feminism is still topical and should be a concern for all people.

If you yourself have experienced discrimination or unequal treatment based on your gender, ethnic origin or sexual orientation at the University of Klagenfurt, please contact us. We are committed to you!
